Jonno Davies is appearing in Painted Blind alongside Rebecca Collingwood at the Arts Theatre in London’s West End from Thursday 17th to Sunday 20th November.
Painted Blind is a physical retelling of Shakespeare’s love stories, with all of the feeling, heartbreak and turmoil of the original characters on the page – blindfolded. “Love looks not with the eyes but with the mind and therefore is winged cupid painted blind.”
This inventive piece is a celebration of the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare’s death, with a difference. With all of the feeling, heartbreak and turmoil of the original characters on the page, Painted Blind is an accessible and beautifully choreographed demonstration of Shakespeare’s transcendent way with words.
Artfully complemented by an original soundtrack from upcoming musician Ned Roberts, this is no frills contemporary dance, suitable for all and not to be missed.
Painted Blind is directed and choreographed by Maddy Mutch.
Tickest for the show are available online from the Arts Theatre’s website.
“Beautifully crafted choreography…a visual feast. The only disappointment was that it ended.” Broadway Baby
“Maddy Mutch’s choreography, not to mention her direction is a triumph.” What’s On Stage
